Added on: September 27, 2012

The Royal Albert Hall is to host a spectacular, star-studded Winter Whites Gala evening, on behalf of Centrepoint, Prince William’s Patron Charity, which helps homeless young people.

On Saturday night, 8th December, during the Statoil Masters Tennis tournament, the Royal Albert Hall will be transformed into an enchanted Winter Wonderland, featuring some of the biggest names in sport and entertainment and in the presence of Special Guests of Honour.

The Winter Whites Gala has been Created and will be Produced by Award-winning Hollywood Screenwriter/Producer, Danielle Alexandra and is presented by Danielle Alexandra Productions in partnership with IMG, the global sports, fashion and media company who own the Statoil Masters Tennis. Together, they are committed to the support of ending youth homelessness.

VIP ticket-holders to the gala evening will mix with film stars, celebrities and some of the greatest tennis champions of all-time on the white carpet and at a champagne reception, before enjoying an exclusive private dinner in the Gallery, decorated as a magical winter crystal palace. VIP guests will then take their seats in their own private hospitality box to watch a brilliant show featuring a singles tournament match followed by exhibition play including celebrities, film and tennis Icons, and legendary players, followed by the presentation of the Centrepoint Premier Award for Contribution to the Lives of Youth Across the World.

The Gala will feature celebrities and the legendary players competing in this year’s Statoil Masters Tennis. Seven-time Grand Slam Champion John McEnroe is scheduled to play in the tournament alongside fellow Wimbledon champions Goran Ivanisevic and Pat Cash. They are joined by Tim Henman, former World Number Ones Mats Wilander and Carlos Moya, Mark Philippoussis, Henri Leconte and the ever-popular trick-shot maestro Mansour Bahrami.

Proceeds from the event will be donated to Centrepoint to further its work in supporting homeless 16-25 year-olds in the UK. Centrepoint is supported by HRH Prince William, The Duke of Cambridge, the charity’s patron. Founded in 1969, Centrepoint has helped more than 75,000 homeless young people and is dedicated to ending youth homelessness.

The charity’s former sole patron was HRH the late Princess of Wales, and since 2005 Centrepoint has had the full support of its Patron, HRH the Duke of Cambridge who has continued his mother’s work. Centrepoint was His Royal Highness’ first patronage and homelessness remains a top commitment for him.

Some years ago, The Duke of Cambridge slept on the streets of London with a group of young homeless people in the run up to Christmas to experience the plight and full impact of being homeless.
