Moya and Enqvist join Royal Albert Hall line-up

Added on: September 7, 2012

Former World number one Carlos Moya will make his debut in the Statoil Masters Tennis, an event owned by IMG, the global sports, fashion and media company, after signing up to appear at the Royal Albert Hall, London, 5th-9th December for the first time.

Moya and the 1999 Australian Open runner-up Thomas Enqvist have both joined the star-studded line-up, which also includes John McEnroe, Goran Ivanisevic, Tim Henman, Pat Cash, Mark Philippoussis, Henri Leconte, Mats Wilander and Mansour Bahrami.

Moya, who won the 1998 French Open, and has been the most successful player on the ATP Champions Tour since joining the circuit last year. He put together a 12-match winning streak before running into Enqvist in Knokke-Heist, Belgium a couple of weeks ago. The Spaniard tops the South African Airways Rankings with almost double the points of his nearest rival, Philippoussis.

Enqvist, like Moya, looks no different to when he was rampaging around the ATP World Tour. The 38-year-old from Stockholm is still as fit as ever, and capable of beating any player on the ATP Champions Tour. He reached the final of the Statoil Masters Tennis last year, losing to eventual champion Henman in the final.

Tickets to the Statoil Masters Tennis in the Royal Albert Hall are now available, with prices from £17.50 per person – click here to book or call the Box Office telephone number on +44 (0)20 7070 4404.

The stars of the ATP Champions Tour like to have a laugh when they are on court in the Royal Albert Hall in December, but this year they have started early.

After recording promotional ‘spots’ to announce that they are part of the Statoil Masters Tennis field in London, 5-9 December, the players’ outtakes were edited into a hilarious 60-second, ‘bloopers’ video.

To watch the video, which features John McEnroe, Goran Ivanisevic, Mats Wilander, Carlos Moya, Mark Philippoussis, and Thomas Enqvist, to go to the homepage of this website.

To see the other videos go the Locker Room page of the website or visit the IMG Tennis UK youtube channel.
